In finance, Beta represents systematic trends; in technology, Beta is the perpetual, ever-iterating prototype. This is a channel that rejects “fake perfection” and embraces “lifelong open beta.”

I studied finance — a thoroughgoing humanities person. In books and films, I find kindred spirits and worlds that feel like home. In technology, I lean toward the sciences: there’s something deeply satisfying about building something from nothing through code. I have many interests, many things I want to understand deeply. I’m slowly cultivating my own taste and expertise.
This magazine has two columns, each reflecting a different side of who I am:
Beta Project — Self-exploration, psychology, and lifestyle experiments. Looking inward. About becoming yourself.
X Factor — Observations on the external variables that shape us: economics, society, history, people, and frontier AI & technology. Looking outward. About understanding the world.
We spend our whole lives learning to better dissolve boredom and know ourselves.
